My Private Collection Privacy Policy
Privacy information for My Private Collection by Marimia Trading FZ-LLC.
Updated 6 October 2026
Your collection
Item details, selected photos, Wishlist entries, service records and insurance documents are stored in the app’s protected storage on your iPhone. The current version has no Marimia account, developer-hosted collection database, advertising or third-party analytics SDK. It does not automatically send your collection to Marimia.
Voice input and AI drafts
Recording starts only when you choose Record in English and grant the microphone and speech-recognition permissions. Audio is transcribed using Apple’s on-device English speech recognition; the app does not fall back to server transcription when on-device recognition is unavailable. Recording stops after one minute, when you stop it, when the recording screen closes or when the app becomes inactive.
The app does not save audio recordings or send your audio or descriptions to Marimia or an external AI provider. Typed descriptions and transcripts are processed by Apple’s on-device Foundation Models framework to create drafts. This requires a supported device with Apple Intelligence enabled and its model ready. Unsaved draft text is held in memory while the screen is open. When you save items, the item-specific original words are kept in Notes, where you can edit or remove them. Saved text then follows the same storage, export, backup and deletion rules as your other collection records.
You can decline or revoke microphone and speech-recognition permission in iPhone Settings. Typing and the regular item form remain alternatives, subject to on-device model availability for AI drafting. Apple’s system downloads, settings and diagnostics are governed by Apple’s privacy practices.
Notifications
Reminder preferences, chosen service dates and the last app-visit date are stored locally. If you opt in, the app schedules watch-service alerts and a single reminder after seven days away. Notification text excludes item names, brands, prices and serial numbers. No developer-operated push notification server is used. You can switch reminders off in the app and revoke notification permission in iPhone Settings.
Photos and documents
You choose photos through Apple’s photo picker and documents through Files. The app retains copies of the selected originals and creates smaller image previews. It does not request access to your entire photo library. A selected file may be downloaded from your cloud provider by Apple’s system picker.
Exports, iCloud Drive and recovery
Excel export contains all recorded item information, including private notes, serial numbers, locations, Wishlist, insurance fields and service records. It references photographs and documents; it does not embed their originals. Full backups include originals and documents.
Saving or sharing an export sends the selected file to the destination you choose. If you choose iCloud Drive, Apple stores it under your Apple Account according to your iCloud settings and Apple’s privacy terms. Other file providers apply their own policies. Backup files are not password-encrypted by My Private Collection. Save them somewhere you trust.
Backups are manual snapshots, not automatic synchronization. A successful save does not confirm that a cloud upload has completed. Apple’s device backups may also include local app data depending on your settings.
Authentication
If you enable the collection lock, Apple handles Face ID, Touch ID or device-passcode authentication. The app receives an authentication result, not your biometric data or passcode. It hides the collection while inactive. Someone who knows your device passcode may still unlock it.
Retention and deletion
In the development version, items moved to Recently Deleted remain recoverable indefinitely. Deleting the app removes its local collection; offloading does not. Separately saved backups and exports remain wherever you saved them and must be deleted there if you no longer want them. Subscription expiry does not intentionally delete your collection.
Support and purchases
Support emails go to hello@marimiagroup.com and are received by Marimia and its email provider. The email draft includes the app name, app version, iOS version and the message you enter. It does not attach your collection automatically. We use correspondence to respond to your request and retain it as needed for support and applicable legal obligations. You may request deletion, subject to those obligations.
At launch, Apple will process subscription payments. My Private Collection uses Apple’s verified transaction information to determine membership access and does not receive your card details. Development purchase testing does not create a live subscription. Apple may separately process diagnostics according to your device settings.
Your choices and contact
You can view, export, back up, restore and delete your data without an active membership. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@marimiagroup.com. We will update this policy before introducing materially different data practices. See our website privacy policy for the Marimia website.
