Daylight Support
Make room for the moments you love, one date at a time.
Start a review
- Unlock Daylight using your iPhone's Face ID, Touch ID or passcode. A device passcode must be set up.
- Allow Photos access. Full Access includes your accessible library; Limited Access includes only the media you select. Use Manage selected photos to change the selection.
- Tap Start review. Today’s month and day are shown across all years, newest first. Use the calendar or neighboring dates to choose a different day.
- Swipe right to keep or left to queue deletion. You can also use the buttons. Tap the media to revisit your previous choice.
- Open Review choices, tap thumbnails to reconsider, then confirm deletion. Daylight measures the files first; Photos asks for final permission.
Nothing is deleted by a swipe
A swipe only changes a saved choice. The queue covers all dates. Deletion starts only after the confirmation steps succeed. With iCloud Photos, deletions also sync to other devices. Recover items using Photos → Recently Deleted within the period shown by Photos, normally 30 days. Daylight cannot empty Recently Deleted.
What does “saved” mean?
It is the measured size of media resources successfully deleted through Daylight. It is not a reading of free space on your iPhone. iCloud optimization, edited/Live Photo resources and Recently Deleted affect device space. Restoring items later does not undo the historical total. Older test versions may have missing sizes: ≥ indicates a known lower bound, and a count without an amount means sizes are unknown.
Media or sizes will not load
Connect to the internet for iCloud originals. Reading originals may use mobile data and take time, especially for long videos. You can cancel size preparation. If a file cannot be read completely, the deletion batch stays untouched. Keep an unavailable item and retry the other items. Media synced from a computer may need to be removed through its original sync source.
Access, privacy and saved choices
If access was denied, open iPhone Settings → Apps → Daylight → Photos (older iOS: Settings → Daylight → Photos). Revoking access does not erase progress. Updating the app preserves choices; deleting the app erases its local progress but does not delete your Photos library. Offloading alone does not erase progress. Daylight has no account, tracking or analytics SDK.
